Our optometry practice was founded in 1983 when Dr. Tripp opened his office on Carling Avenue, just west of Carlingwood Shopping Centre. In 1998, it relocated to the second floor of Hampton Park Plaza (Carling at Kirkwood). The most central location in Ottawa, the plaza is 12 minutes from either Kanata or Orleans with easy Queensway access and free parking. In 2008, we invested in digital retinal photography to assist in detecting and monitoring diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and glaucoma. In 2013, we added wavefront aberrometry, corneal topography and electronic refraction.
Dr. R. James Tripp cares about your vision and uses advanced eye equipment to diagnose your eye-related conditions. Your eye examination will include a complete inspection of your ocular health including pupil dilation to ensure the structures inside your eyes are healthy. We use the latest technology, including retinal imaging to evaluate the internal structures of your eyes. We have extensive training and clinical experience with the fitting and management of all contact lens cases. We fit all types of contact lenses including the newest disposables, bifocal and gas-permeable lenses.
Dr. R. James Tripp will help you decide if laser treatment is right for your eyes. We have a team of doctors who are certified to manage our patients in both the pre-operative and post-operative care for the laser vision correction procedure.
